Golden Eagle Charters

Frequently Asked Questions

Boat Charter Preparation

So you've booked a charter and now need to tell everyone where Golden Eagle Charters departs from and what they need to bring. Forward our FAQ to your friends so that they may also be prepared. For your convenience we have compiled a printable checklist.

Q. We have an event booked, when should be be at the dock?
A. The boat will be ready for loading 15 minutes prior to departure. Have your group arrive 30 minutes prior to departure to ensure you're not waiting at the dock for stragglers to arrive (we know there's always a couple of latecomers... always!)

Q. Where is the boat and how do we get there?
A. The boat is located at the Plaza of Nations Marina, on the east side of the Edgewater Casino at 750 Pacific Blvd. See the map to our location. If you prefer to use public transit, the Stadium Skytrain station is located only 1.3kms away, about a 5 to 10 minute walk. Check www.translink.bc.ca for route planning.

Q. Is there parking nearby?
A. Pay parking lots are located throughout the Plaza of Nations, as well as at the Edgewater Casino. Street parking may also be available along Pacific Boulevard, Carrall Street, or Expo Boulevard and usually requires some extra driving to find.  Take note of any sporting or concert events happening during the day of your charter, as these free parking spots are usually snapped up early by fans.

Q. What should we bring?
A. First of all, a great attitude is required before getting on board. Remember that you're about to head out for a few hours with great friends in a unique setting. In addition consider bringing along the following:

Essentials

  • sunglasses
  • sunscreen, a must under all conditions
  • camera, to capture those memories
  • music, mp3 player can be plugged in to the on board system via the headphone jack
  • beverages of your choice (preferably in cans, they cool faster and don't tip over as easy)
  • snacks
  • cups, plates, napkins and cutlery
  • ice and a cooler to put it all in

Optionals

  • sweater, for those of you that get chilled easily
  • motion-sickness tablets, only for the queasy
  • bathing suit and towel...we don't provide a linen service

Coordinate amongst yourselves as to who brings what. Temperatures are usually a few degrees cooler on the water than on shore, so dress appropriately. If you do feel chilled, the cabin below is heated and offers respite from the outdoors. For your convenience we have compiled a printable pre-boarding charter checklist that includes a location map.

Q. Where will we go?
A. We like to tour False Creek, Granville Island, English Bay and Stanley Park. The North Shore, West Vancouver and up Indian Arm are also popular day trips because of the sheltered calm waters and because most people haven't experienced those waters. If the seas are too rocky, we won't subject our customers to gutwrenching swells. When on board consult our captain for the best touring options of the day.

Q. Is there cell phone coverage when on the boat?
A. Yes, feel free to call friends and family and tell them what a wonderful time you're having on the water around town.

Boat Cruise & Fishing Charter Preparation

First off let me say "simply amazing"! We booked the boat for a 25 person sunset cruise. The boat was clean and the captain was very friendly. The views were absolutely breathtaking. We highly recommend Golden Eagle Charters!
